New York, NY- August 04, 2011-Renowned New York City Caterer and Food Professional Nadege Fleurimond, was this year's official guest of honor at the 3rd annual Festival of Culinary & Gastronomy in

Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The festival serves the double purpose of bringing awareness to Guadeloupe's local food and agriculture sectors as well as introducing the Guadeloupe population to other world talents of Caribbean descent. This year, the festival took place on July 23rd and 24th.

During the two day festivities, Nadege Fleurimond conducted and coordinated several cooking seminars and demonstrations. She focused mainly on Haitian Cuisine and showcased her very unique talent of combining her native cuisine with other worldly flavors and ingredients to create the delightful and delicious fusions that Fleurimond Catering has come to be famous for.

Nadia Ako of Media 97, who this year, was the head planner of the festival explained why Ms Fleurimond was this year's Special Guest:

“We wanted to ensure that every year we invited an international chef of Caribbean descent that is doing amazing work. After our research and seeing the work that Nadege Fleurimond is doing, we thought she was a great choice for the festival. We are happy that she was able to make it. People enjoyed and appreciated her presence."
Author Suzy Palatin, a Guadeloupe native who now lives in Paris, also attended the festival as a special guest.

Through pouring rain on Saturday, July 23rd, the foodies of Guadeloupe came to support the festival and attend Ms. Fleurimond's demonstrations. Guadeloupe, known as the "France in the Caribbean", has a vibrant culinary culture.
"The food influences are very inspiring. Guadeloupian Cuisine has French, African, Sri Lankan and various other injections. You can see that people here love food. They wanted to learn; they asked questions and were very open and receptive. Even walking on the festival grounds, people pulled us aside for recipes," explains Fleurimond, who is, without a doubt, charmed by the whole experience.
