MIAMI, USA (defend.ht) - Since June Christalie Parisot has anchored Haitian News, the new Creole

language program hitting the airwaves on NBC Miami. She gave an exclusive interview to DH.

Young Haitian Christalie Parisot is the third generation of media and culture women, following the path of her grandmother, playwright and writer, Mona Guerin, and her mother, anchorwoman and comedian Elizabeth Guerin.

Anchoring for the first time a Haitian News edition of a major U.S. television network, Christalie is one of prides of Haitians in the Diaspora.

"It's a good thing for the Haitian community and a positive image of Haiti," rejoices Jean Etienne living in Miami for almost 30 years and knowing well the history of the Haitian community in Florida.

“The image of Haiti has not always been so rosy, but in recent years it is improving with the new generation of immigrants, Haitian-Americans, even stars such as Wyclef Jean who are proud to stand as Haitians”, said Etienne while watching a News edition presented by Christalie Parisot.

Interviewed by Defend Haiti, the anchorwoman says the show is being well received by Haitian community of South Florida.

"It was a great event for the Diaspora that usually doesn’t receive fresh news from Haiti every day. People are very happy and they bring us a daily warm support", says Elizabeth Guerin’s daughter describing herself as one who is fond of media, music and art.

Christalie was naturally oriented toward Medias. In fact, she has never known anything else. "I was 8 months when my mother and my grandmother took me to Radio Métropole [Port-au-Prince] to tape the popular Haitian soap opera “Roye les voila”. My baby chirps were used for the character of Benedict, Patrick Mérien’s daughter ", she recalls.
