MIAMI -Pierre Garcon is planning on making a trip to Haiti this spring, but will he get to bring the Lombardi Trophy with him?
question will be answered Sunday night, but for now, Garcon is preparing like everyone else for the Super Bowl with thoughts of his ravaged home land squarely on his mind.
“I’m just trying to think the best, but it is kind of hard right now, especially after all the bad things that have gone on,” said Garcon, the Indianapolis Colts wide receiver who was born in West Palm Beach, but is of Haitian descent and speaks Creole.

is the only one of his family not born in Haiti, which is recovering from a earthquake that measure a 7.0 on the Richter scale last month.
“I think things are getting a little better, but now that they are starting over and trying to rebuild and pick up where things left off,” Garcon said. “It has been kind of hard, but it is part of life.”
Garcon, in his second season, stepped up after the season-ending injury to Anthony Gonzalez to make 47 catches for 765 yards and four touchdowns. In two playoff games, Garcon has 16 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown, including an AFC Championship-record 11 catches for 151 yards and the go-ahead four-yard touchdown as the Colts rallied from 17-6 down to advance to the team’s second Super Bowl in four years.
“I always imagined playing in (the Super Bowl),” Garcon said. “I never really thought it would come true.”
