Having a child or two means im getting a load of Moola.
Although having a dependent can help lower your taxable income it is not necessarily true to say that each dependent is "worth" a set amount of money. All dependent credits including EIC (earned income credit) and additional child tax credit are calculated based not only on the age of the dependent but your AGI (annual gross income).
I can't file with a dependent after they turn 18.
Dependents can be claimed up to the age of 24 as long as they reside with you for at least 6 months out of the year and are a full time student. The only exception to the age rule is that the dependent is disabled.
I can file with my last pay stub
In actuality we can only give you an estimate. The w2 will reflect any adjustments from you last paystub to year end. A missmatch in the numbers can result in getting a letter from the IRS.
When you are ready to file make sure you bring with you all the proper documents (as applicable):
